By Tom Gott
Some of the most popular formations on Football Manager 2024 revolve around the genius of an attacking midfielder.
Finding the right player to orchestrate your attack is crucial to your success in FM24 and, thankfully, there are plenty of options out there regardless of how much you've got to work with.
Here are 90min's tips for attacking midfielders to sign in FM24.
Cheap options
Adam Lallana
Brighton
At 35, Lallana isn't a long-term option at all but he boasts some excellent passing stats and is one of a handful of options at this price point that can still play at a high level. He's yours for £4.5m.
Giacomo Bonaventura
Fiorentina
Bonaventura, 33, is another veteran of the game but also brings the sort of ability needed to play in a top league for an affordable £3.5m.
Oscar Trejo
Vallecano
A budget option at just £750,000, Trejo is far better than that price tag might suggest but, unsurprisingly, you'll have to cope with the fact he's 35.
Willian
Fulham
Jurgen Klopp described Willian as one of the best players in Premier League history. Someone with that reputation will set you back £2.8m.
Roberto Pereyra
Udinese
With 15s and 14s all over his stats page, the versatile Pereyra can be yours for a cool £2.7m.

Alvaro Fidalgo
America
An absolute steal on FM23, Fidalgo is a massive bargain once again this year. At just £500,000, you're getting a player who is good enough to compete in the major leagues, and one who will net you a serious profit in just 12 months. Seriously, get this guy right now.
Pizzi
BRG
The veteran Pizzi is a nice, well-rounded midfield option and is very affordable at just £2m. He's got 15s and 14s all over his attributes page.
Dries Mertens
Galatasaray
A nice option both in attack and midfield, Mertens is on the transfer list and starts off with an asking price of £900,000.
Ganso
FLU
The former wonderkid partner to Neymar, Ganso is now 33 and playing back in Brazil, where he is also on the transfer list for £1.6m.
Renato Augusto
COR
Ending things with another veteran Brazilian, Augusto is a nice bargain at £325,000 if you can't land any of your top targets.
Reasonable options
Marco Reus
Borussia Dortmund
As far as current abilities go, Reus is your best option at this price point. He's available for just £7.75m but will also command some hefty wages. If you can accomodate that, he's a smart signing.
Claudinho
Zenit
Claudinho is a little on the expensive side at £12.5m, but he's definitely worth it. At 26 years old, he's only going to increase in value.
Mario Pasalic
Atalanta
On the transfer list at Atalanta, Pasalic begins with an asking price of £9.5m but that figure soon starts to tumble, and plenty of sides will be battling for his signature before the summer comes to a close.
Rade Krunic
AC Milan
Versatile enough to play anywhere across your midfield, Krunic is a smart squad signing at £9.5m.
Emil Forsberg
RB Leipzig
Forsberg has 15s in all the right places on his attributes page, which should make his £11m asking price pretty easy to swallow.

Marko Livaja
Hajduk
You probably signed this guy on FM ten years ago, and you should sign him again now. Livaja is good enough to play in a top division but comes with the bargain asking price of just £7.25m.
Oliver
Sevilla
Sevilla's willingness to listen to offers for every player will see them sell you Oliver for £15.25m. He's an excellent creator who can fill in a number of positions.
Rafinha
Al-Arabi
Rafinha at £8m is a great deal. The 30-year-old brings 16 passing, 16 first touch and 16 dribbling, making him an excellent option to lead your midfield.
Albert Gudmundsson
Genoa
With an accent that means you can't find him by searching his name, Gudmundsson might be best suited for a wider role but he's still an excellent playmaker for an affordable £8.75m.
Vicenzo Grifo
Freiburg
Another natural winger, Grifo is a great fit for this AM role. His 16 long shots are worth £10m.
Expensive options
Rafa
Benfica
Rafa has been an elite signing for years now and he's still a top option in FM24. He'll cost you £26m and you may have to act quickly, because he's far better than that fee may suggest and some of the game's top sides will soon start looking at him.
Thomas Muller
Bayern Munich
£23m will get you the ageing Muller, who remains one of the best in the world in his position but comes with the downside of being nearly 34 years old.
Teun Koopmeiners
Atalanta
Koopmeiners is more of a deeper midfielder but you can still make the most of his 15 passing and 15 vision further forward. He'll cost you £33m.
Joao Mario
Benfica
Mario has reinvented himself in these past few years and is now one of the best attacking midfielders on the game. His £24.5m asking price is actually a bit of a steal.
Piotr Zielinski
Parthenope
£42m will get you the 17 passing and 16 vision of Zielinski, whose contract is up at the end of the season. It's up to you if you want to risk waiting for a free transfer.
90min recommends
Paulo Dybala
AS Roma
Dybala's release clause is outrageous. £17.25m for Serie A clubs and just £10.25m for foreign sides - you won't find much better than that.
Ricardo Horta
BRG
Horta's £25.5m release clause isn't as eye-catching as that of Dybala, but that doesn't mean it isn't still excellent value.
Jonas Hofmann
Bayer Leverkusen
Hofmann is a great option either out on the right or in this central role, and his £27m asking price is more than fair.
Carlos Soler
Paris SG
PSG are open to cashing in on 26-year-old Soler for £26m, which is great value. His 15 passing and 15 long shots should make him plenty of fun.
Thomas Lemar
A. Madrid
One of several affordable signings from A. Madrid, Lemar can be yours for as little as £24.5m. If you fail to land any of the targets above, he's a great fall-back option.
