The best goals of MLS Decision Day - ranked
By Chris Smith

Decision Day is done and the MLS Cup Playoffs are locked in.
The final day of the MLS regular season was about as dramatic as you'd expect, if not more, given 11 teams were battling for five post-season spots.
All the pressure and circumstance brought out some truly incredible strikes. Jaw-dropping moments worthy of a place on the walls of the Louvre.
So, for one last time this regular season, here are the best goals in MLS this week. You won't want to miss these.
5. Hany Mukhtar (vs New York Red Bulls)
HANY. MUKHTAR.

Make that 16 goals on the season for that man!#NSHvRBNY // #DecisionDay pic.twitter.com/jZjNF7vhaT
Most people are gunning for Carles Gil, but surely Hany Mukhtar is right up there as a main contender for the MVP Award, with his 16 goals and 10 assists?
His Decision Day strike will take some beating. Sure, it found the net via a deflection from Fabio, but for Mukhtar to get that much power and dip on it from that angle is so impressive. And the audacity to even take on the shot?
Only MVPs pull out moments like that...
4. Lucas Zelarayan (vs Chicago Fire)

...Which is why it was absolutely no surprise to see 2020 Newcomer of the Year and MLS Cup MVP Lucas Zelarayan pull out a goal like this.
It meant nothing in the end with the Crew still missing out on the Playoffs, but Zelarayan's dancing feet and calmness in front of goal will keep you hypnotized for hours.
Absolute magic from a certified magician.
3. Cole Bassett (vs LAFC)

If he keeps this up, Thomas Muller will be calling him GOAL Bassett.
The US youngster has been incredibly unlucky in the final third this season, hitting the woodwork a league-high seven times. It's a wonder he managed to finish the campaign with five goals, he's been that unfortunate.
This one on the final day was the pick of the bunch, turning out beautifully and sweeping the ball into the far corner to help the Rapids roll LAFC and finish top of the Western Conference.
2. Jhegson Mendez (vs CF Montreal)

With the hour mark fast approaching, CF Montreal and Orlando City were locked at 0-0 in a must-win clash for both sides. Somebody needed a moment. Jhegson Mendez provided it.
The Ecuadorian midfielder brought down a clearance on the edge of the Montreal box, quickly worked out the angle into the far corner in his head, then just lashed the ball straight into the back of the net.
Quite possibly the best and most important Orlando City goal this season, punching their ticket to the Playoffs.
1. Josef Martinez (vs FC Cincinnati)

Josef Alexander Martinez Mencia, what are you doing?!
Atlanta United were tied 1-1 with FC Cincinnati heading into the final 10 minutes at TQL Stadium. Josef clearly got sick of his side's huffing and puffing and decided to take matters (and physics) into his own hands, unleashing a ridiculous volley into the far corner, without even looking.
Gonzalo Pineda was all of us reacting to this incredible moment from a remarkable player:
“I couldn’t believe it. One of the most beautiful goals I’ve seen," said Pineda. "I think the execution, the angle, the way he placed the ball in the top corner, the moment of the game where probably we were not super sharp in the final third missing a few chances, and then Josef coming to do what he does best, which is scoring fantastic goals."
Regal quality from the King of Atlanta.
