The best videos and celebrations from Napoli's Serie A title win

Pandemonium. It is the only word that can accurately describe the scenes not only in Naples, but all over Italy where there are enclaves of Napoli supporters taking to the streets in celebration.

It has been a staggering 33 years since Napoli last won the Scudetto, a victory that was won with the late great Diego Maradona at the centre of the picture. This time, Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are the two headline makers in the team, but so many more players have been key to the triumph.

The title was secured on Thursday night with a 1-1 draw away at Udinese. It would take you roughly nine hours to drive from Napoli's Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to the Dacia Arena in Udine where the title was won. That did not dampen the party one bit though, with celebrations erupting everywhere you can think of.

The streets of Naples

Napoli were expecting to win the title last weekend when they took on Salernitana at home. The scenario was that Lazio needed to drop points and Napoli needed to win. The Partenopei were set to play the day before Lazio but the Prefect of Naples managed to get the game moved to after Lazio, citing safety concerns.

Having done so, a late Boulaye Dia goal meant that the game at the Maradona ended 1-1 and suddenly all of the title celebrations had to be put on hold until Thursday night at the earliest. That did not seem to take anything away from the celebrations on the streets of Napoli.

Twitter user Lewis Urquhart was in Naples to take in the scenes and he captured some superb videos, like the one seen below.

Napoli packed their own stadium full of fans to watch the match on big screens and it's fair to say they reacted accordingly to Osimhen scoring the equaliser which eventually proved to be the title-winning goal.

Some fans got extremely creative with their title celebrations such as these supporters in Naples who have managed to create some sort of Scudetto boat to cruise around the city in. That is a superb effort.

Celebrations outside of Naples

While Naples and Udine were the epicentres of the Scudetto celebrations, there was plenty of noise across Italy and in many other countries too.

Videos have surfaced from nearly every town in Italy showing Napoli fans descending on the streets, such as this video from Conor Clancy in Parma after the full-time whistle.

There was plenty of noise in London, too. A bar named Da Maria London screened the game for their Neapolitan customers and they captured both the moment Osimhen scored and where the final whistle blew, sparking jubilant and emotional scenes.

The Piazza del Duomo has been the centre of Scudetto celebrations for the last two seasons with Inter and AC Milan winning the Serie A title, but it was the same story again on Thursday night. Italian broadcaster DAZN Italia took a video of the fireworks in front of the Duomo.

Dressing room celebrations for Napoli

As you'd expect, the Napoli dressing room was a party all of its own after the full-time whistle with the official club account sharing a video of the celebrations, as well as Mexican winger Hirving Lozano.

Staying at the Dacia Arena, there was a remarkable scene captured by DAZN which showed Napoli fans taking home lumps of the turf where the players had delivered the title, which is quite the souvenir.

It was a particularly emotional day for Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti, who began his managerial career back in 1993 and has finally won Serie A for the first time. He is a coach many have not taken seriously enough until this season and when being interviewed after the game by DAZN, it became clear what this means.

He began dedicating the victory to his family and his daughter Matilde, before mentioning his brother Marcello who passed away four years ago. The mention causes him to tear up, showing just how emotional a night it was for the coach.
