Boca Juniors may have to change their badge - because they're winning too much

It really is a struggle when you're so rampantly successful in life that managing which accolades you actively celebrate becomes a problem.
Oh, it's just Boca Juniors and I who have that issue?
Fair enough, the box office life isn't for everyone.
Putting my extensive list of Football Manager and FPL accomplishments to one side, Argentine giants Boca are running into some issues with their crest - because they are winning too many trophies for it to keep up.

The iconic badge of Diego Maradona's former team is regularly updated to include a star for every honour they win. That seemed like a good idea in 1996 - but they recently won their 70th title, and it is getting out of hand.
As things stand their shield is full to the brim, beginning to resemble a blue and yellow polka-dot pattern more than stars of any discernible shape. That has already led to Adidas simplifying the version displayed on their gear, with the club agreeing to an abridged 50-star version to ease the burden on the kit manufacturer.
They use the full quota for all other purposes as things stand, but Footy Headlines report that this may be changing soon. Anticipating that the problem will only get worse (or so they hope) there is a proposal on the table to bring their official crest in line with the Adidas version, and display just 50 stars behind an anagram of the club's name.
Apparently @BocaJrsOficial want to change their badge to reduce the amount of stars 'because they win too much' ?

Worse problems to have - and I don't mind the solution they are going for.
Why do more UK clubs NOT have a star or two? Any ideas? Old Man City? Who else? ? pic.twitter.com/g7xqF7qKBC
Because they can't not let everyone know how much they have won, however, the new version would include a single star above the crest, containing a number indicating how many trophies they have won.
For now, that would be 70, after they added a landmark honour to their extensive list when they won the 2020 Copa de la Liga Profesional last month. Fittingly, they won it in the same year that it was formally named Copa Diego Armando Maradona, after the Boca and Argentina legend who passed away in November.
There had been talk in Spain that Boca could incorporate a nod to Maradona into their new crest, but it seems the focus is on simplifying it rather than adding layers.

Boca, of course, are synonymous with Maradona, and have honoured him in other ways - their players marked their first goal after his passing by dedicating their celebration his daughter.
If you haven't seen that yet, what are you doing? Get on it, but get the tissues out first.
