Brighton predicted lineup vs Brentford - Premier League
Brighton welcome Brentford to the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon for a Boxing Day Premier League fixture.
Leandro Trossard's 90th-minute winner for Brighton at the start of the season preserved Graham Potter's superb individual record against Brentford, securing his fourth consecutive victory when facing the Bees. Potter has a 100% win rate against 26 different clubs in his managerial career, but he's never played any of those sides as often as he has defeated Brighton's upcoming opponents.
Here's the XI the Seagulls boss may deploy to keep his winning run alive.
Brighton predicted lineup vs Brentford
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Robert Sanchez (GK) - One of the division's most commanding keepers has stopped the highest proportion of crosses into his penalty area in the Premier League this term (per FBref).
Adam Webster (CB) - Brighton's record signing is pencilled in to return from his latest fitness concern to help fill the gaping void left by the injured club captain, Lewis Dunk.
Shane Duffy (CB) - Only two players in Brighton's squad have fired off more shots than the ball magnet from corner kicks - yet, Duffy has only netted once, back in August.
Dan Burn (CB) - An injury riddled campaign has limited Brighton's stand-in captain for their last outing to just six top flight starts this season - Burn is yet to win from the off.
2. Midfielders
Tariq Lamptey (RWB) - Briefly trialled in an advanced position, Brighton's nippy fullback may reprise his more defensive role.
Enock Mwepu (CM) - 'The Computer' - a nickname with a longevity that has surprised Mwepu himself since a youth coach came up with it when he was just six or seven - is gradually establishing himself on the south coast.
Adam Lallana (CM) - The former Liverpool and Southampton player is one booking shy of a suspension that has sidelined the teammate he may replace on Sunday, Yves Bissouma.
Jakub Moder (CM) - Brighton's Swiss army knife of a Poland international has been fielded across the width and breadth of Brighton's ever-changing system.
Marc Cucurella (LWB) - The former Barcelona academy graduate was afforded just seven first team minutes by the Catalan giants - Brighton have barely gone seven minutes without him since Cucurella made his debut against Brentford in September.
3. Forwards
Leandro Trossard (ST) - The only player to start each of Brighton's Premier League matches this season isn't poised to relinquish that omnipresent status.
Danny Welbeck (ST) - With top scorer Neal Maupay a doubt, Welbeck may well be thrust back into action for his first appearance since September - the last month Brighton earned a Premier League victory.
