Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League's Player of the Month for November.

Fernandes enjoyed a formidable month, scoring four times and assisting a further one to help United recover from a tricky start to the season. His form guided his side back into top four contention, and they now sit just five points from the top of the table with a game in hand over Tottenham and Liverpool.

Other than the disappointing defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford, the Portuguese midfielder scored or assisted in every game United played in November. He was instrumental in their slaying of Everton at Goodison Park, scoring once and teeing up two more, before scoring the decisive goal at home to West Brom a week later.

He started their remarkable comeback away at Southampton with a powerful low strike and was once again at the heart of everything United did in a four-week period that saw them take nine points from a possible 12.

He edged out an impressive list of nominees with Chelsea's Ben Chilwell, Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg West Ham's Angelo Ogbonna and Southampton's James Ward-Prowse also gaining nominations for their efforts.

Bruno will be looking to carry his astonishing run into a festive period that could make or break the season for United. He has already scored or assisted 17 goals in all competitions this term, but even he wasn't enough to drag them into the last 16 of the Champions League, with RB Leipzig eliminating them earlier this week.

Chances at redemption aren't hard to come by, however. United will welcome neighbours City to Old Trafford on Saturday evening, looking to dent their rivals' title aspirations, while perhaps breathing fire into their own.

They then face Sheffield United, Leeds, Leicester and Wolves in the Premier League and Everton in the Carabao Cup to round off 2020. There's no rest for the wicked.
