Canada's predicted lineup against Argentina in the Copa America 2024 semi-finals will feature a few new faces that were not on the pitch for Canada's group stage defeat against the reigning champions.

Canada are the biggest surprise at Copa America 2024. The CONCACAF team was not even projected to make it out of Group A, but the Reds continue to grind out results that keep them in the competition. Now, they are preparing for a semi-final match in their first ever Copa America appearance.

Jesse Marsch is not afraid to try out different formations or starting lineups, but the manager will likely keep his same XI that came out victorious over Venezuela in the quarter-finals.

Here's what Canada's starting XI could look like against Argentina on July 9.

GK: Maxime Crepeau - Crepeau's mistake in the quarter-finals almost cost Canada the game; the keeper cannot afford another lapse in judgement in the semi-finals.

RB: Alistair Johnston - Johnston took a couple of knocks against Venezuela, but the right-back is ready to go against Argentina.

CB: Moise Bombito - Bombito has played all 360 minutes of the tournament so far for Canada, and the center-back will once again start alongside Cornelius on Tuesday.

CB: Derek Cornelius - The center-back pairing of Bombito and Cornelius have only conceded three goals at Copa America 2024, and they have the opportunity to deny Lionel Messi his first goal of the tournament.

LB: Alphonso Davies - Davies will lead Canada in what is his country's biggest match yet.

DM: Jonathan Osorio - Osorio got the start over Ismael Kone in Canada's final group stage match, and the Toronto FC player has continued to gain the favor of Jesse Marsch.

DM: Stephen Eustaquio - No matter what formation or starting XI Marsch puts out, Eustaquio will always be in the midfield for the Reds.

RM: Richie Laryea - Laryea is one of the few players that did not start against Argentina in the opening match of the tournament. The midfielder must to link up with Johnston on the counter attack to create chances for his side.

AM: Jonathan David - David scored Canada's first ever Copa America goal against Peru, but in the following two matches, the Lille playmaker has been kept off the scoresheet.

LM: Jacob Shaffelburg - In just his second start of the competition, Shaffelburg bagged Canada's only goal on Friday. The MLS player will look to continue his momentum against Argentina.

ST: Cyle Larin - Larin has yet to score at Copa America 2024, and the striker must find his goalscoring form if the Reds want to beat Emiliano Martinez.
