Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes French star Eduardo Camavinga should be fit for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City.

Having emerged as the team's starting left-back in recent weeks, Camavinga returned to his natural midfield role in a much-changed Real side for Saturday's 1-0 win over Getafe but was forced off the pitch with five minutes to go after picking up a knee injury,

There was real frustration from Real fans after the game, many of whom were disappointed to see Camavinga's fitness risked so close to the second leg against City.

However, Ancelotti was confident that Camavinga's injury was nothing serious and he moved to play down concerns over the 20-year-old's involvement on Wednesday.

"It's just a blow, and he will recover fast. Everyone should be ready to face Manchester City. Camavinga has a knock, but he should be fine. Yes, he had a small twist in his knee, but it's a blow, nothing more," Ancelotti reassured said.

"[On Sunday] he will rest, like the rest of those who have played," he added.

Ancelotti opted to field a weakened team for the La Liga match at the Santiago Bernabeu against Getafe, with one eye clearly on the upcoming Champions League semi-final. Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo all missed out on the starting XI, while Eden Hazard was handed a rare start.

The timing of Camavinga's injury adds an element of concern for Real Madrid, as they aim to overturn a 1-1 draw from the first leg of the tie against City.

Vinicius gave Los Blancos an early lead in the first leg but Kevin De Bruyne's controversial equaliser means the Spanish giants will have to be at their best at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
