CF Montreal vs Inter Miami: Preview, predictions and lineups
- Inter Miami square off against CF Montreal at Stade Saputo Saturday night
- The Herons are coming off a dominant 6-2 triumph over New York Red Bulls
- Montreal have picked up just one win in their last seven matches played
Inter Miami return to action following their dominant display vs New York Red Bulls to take on CF Montreal this Saturday at Stade Saputo.
It was a breathtaking showing from the Herons last time out, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez putting up their best performances in a Miami shirt thus far in the team's emphatic 6-2 victory over New York. Messi's five assists broke the MLS single-game record, while Suarez managed to bag his first hat trick as a Heron.
Montreal's impressive start to the season has been extinguished with first-year boss Laurent Courtois at the helm. After starting off the 2024 campaign with two wins out of their first three matches played (one coming against Miami on March 10), the Canadian outfit have since picked up just one win in seven matches played.
A win would see the Herons remain atop the Eastern Conference table and taste victory for the eight time this season. Should Montreal pull of the huge upset, they could find themselves back in a playoff position as they currently sit in 11th place in the division with 12 points.

CF Montreal team news
Much of Montreal's poor form can be attributed to the number of injuries they're dealing with. Key players like starting strikers Josef Martinez and Matias Coccaro are both out of action until late July with knee injuries.
Ex-LAFC forward Kwadwo Opoku is also sidelined with an ankle injury, while new signing Dominik Yankov and defender Joaquin Sosa will also miss the contest with respective hamstring and leg injuries.

Inter Miami team news
Like Montreal, Miami are also dealing with numerous injuries in their camp. Veteran full-back Jordi Alba remains sidelined with a hamstring injury and is expected to return to action sometime this month.
Diego Gomez and Federico Redondo are still recovering from their respective knee and ankle injuries, and both players should be good to go by the end of the month.
As center-back Tomas Aviles picked up his fifth yellow card in the win over Red Bulls, he'll serve a one-game suspension and is unavailable for selection against Montreal. Aviles will more than likely return to the XI for Miami for their May 15 clash with in-state rivals Orlando City.

CF Montreal vs Inter Miami score prediction
The Herons come into this one as heavy favorites, and rightfully so. They've navigated difficult periods without their main man Messi and are still dealing with injuries in their camp, but they continue to take home three points.
Montreal will managed to get past Drake Callender once, but Miami's powerful attack will be too much for the Canadian club as the visiting Herons will earn a comfortable victory before their rivalry clash with Orlando City.
Prediction: CF Montreal 1-3 Inter Miami
