Manchester United couldn't have asked for a much harder group on their return to the Champions League, drawing last season's finalists and semi-finalists.

But the Red Devils enjoyed another night to remember in the French capital as they got off to the perfect start in Group H with a very impressive 2-1 win over PSG. Few would have predicted such a result (especially considering their defensive issues of late), but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men were deserving of the three points.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig - who currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga table - also secured all three points on Tuesday, running out 2-0 winners over first time qualifiers Istanbul Basaksehir.

With the first round of fixtures in the highly competitive Group H now behind us, we at 90min have decided to go ahead and come up with a combined XI from the teams in the group....

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

David de Gea - Man Utd (GK) - De Gea was at his outstanding best on Tuesday, putting in a commanding display and producing a number of world class saves to frustrate PSG. The Spaniard played with the kind of authority and confidence that United fans became so used to seeing on a regular basis prior to his major dip in form. With Dean Henderson ready and waiting, De Gea has once again raised his game to hold down the starting spot between the posts.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Man Utd (RB) - Like De Gea, Wan-Bissaka showed his quality during the win over PSG. Operating as the wing-back, he closed off the spaces excellently and helped keep the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar quiet. Still has a lot of work to do when on the attack, but he will be forgiven for his lack of threat going forward if he continues to produce stellar defensive displays such as the one he did on Tuesday.

Dayot Upamecano - RB Leipzig (CB) - Upamecano is one of the most sought after central defenders in Europe, and he's picked up right where he left off last campaign. The Frenchman has started every game so far in 2020/21, with his displays helping Leipzig concede just two goals in their opening six games in all competitions.

Marquinhos - PSG (CB) - Following the departure of Thiago Silva, Marquinhos was recently named club captain. He was only fit enough for a place on the bench for the defeat to United, and he was sorely missed by Thomas Tuchel. Not only is the Brazilian a versatile and extremely well-rounded defender, he also leads by example. Marquinhos was deployed in midfield last term, but has dropped back into the defence this season in order to fill the void left by Silva.

Alex Telles - Man Utd (LB) - Telles enjoyed a memorable debut, putting in an excellent display down the left in the win over PSG. Operating slightly further forward as a left wing back, the Brazilian had the freedom to get forward and put in a number of teasing crosses.

2. Midfielders

Paul Pogba - Man Utd (CM) - Hasn't made the greatest of starts to the 2020/21 season, but Pogba showed his quality when he came on against PSG. Operating slightly further out on the left, the midfielder was allowed to drift into pockets of space and link up more effectively with the attackers - like he did for the winner.

Bruno Fernandes - Man Utd (CM) - Some may call him 'Penandes', but the reality is that Bruno has been sensational since his arrival in January - scoring 16 times and providing 11 assists in just 28 games so far. The numbers don't lie, do they?

Dani Olmo - RB Leipzig (CAM) - We could have selected Marco Verratti, but with the Italian seemingly never fit, we have decided to go with Olmo. The Spaniard has made a strong start to the season while operating mainly as the more creative midfielder within Julian Nagelsmann's fluid system, grabbing four assists already. Perhaps what is most exciting about Olmo is that at only 22, so he still has plenty of time to improve his game further.

3. Forwards

Marcus Rashford - Man Utd (FW) - Rashford sure does love Paris, doesn't he? The Englishman ruthlessly fired home from outside the area to give United the three points they deserved against Les Parisiens, but overall, he never stopped working and looking to make things happen. Rashford is very much up and running for the season, with four goals and two assists to his name so far.

Kylian Mbappe - PSG (FW) - Mbappe has four goals and four assists after in just four Ligue 1 games this season. But he was unable to have the kind of impact against United he would have hoped for, instead he cut a frustrated figure. Despite his side's lack of creativity, however, Mbappe was still looking to carry the fight to his opponents, coming up with a few moments of real quality.

Neymar - PSG (FW) - Look, every player can have an off day, but Neymar seemingly doesn't benefit in any way from the positions he took up against United. Coming so deep just to get hold of the ball, the Red Devils' midfielders and defenders were comfortable. There is absolutely no denying the Brazilian's phenomenal quality, but Tuchel must look to make the necessary adjustments to bring the best out of him.
