Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham: Player Ratings as London Derby Ends Goalless

Chelsea and Tottenham played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with the result taking Spurs back to the top of the Premier League table.

The hosts thought they'd taken the lead early on, only for Timo Werner's strike to be ruled out for offside. After this setback the Blues dominated possession, however Spurs always appeared dangerous and had the better of the first half chances.

After the break, Tottenham dug in and tried to frustrate Chelsea. Aside from Mason Mount going close, Spurs were successful in stifling the game with a goalless draw always looking the most likely result.

Chelsea

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

James whipped in somme dangerous crosses / Clive Rose/Getty Images

Edouard Mendy (GK) - 7/10 - Made one solid stop in the first half to deny Aurier. Distributed very well and commanded his area.

Reece James (RB) - 7/10 - A real threat down the right. Strengthened his position as one of the Premier League's best crossers.

Kurt Zouma (CB) - 6/10 - Pretty quiet afternoon all round as Harry Kane played so deep. Nearly lost his side the game with a horrific pass in the dying moments.

Thiago Silva (CB) - 7/10 - A similar story to his partner. Was important in building his side's attacks, racking up a game high 100 passes.

Ben Chilwell (LB) - 7/10 - Son did not offer him much to think about. Will be disappointed not to have offered a bit more going forward.

2. Midfielders

Mateo Kovacic (CM) - 6/10 - Neat and tidy in possession, registering a near perfect pass completion rate. Sometimes his team needed him to take more risks.

N'Golo Kante (CM) - 6/10 - Engaged in a fascinating battle with his compatriot, Ndombele, who caused him all manner of problems.

Mason Mount (CM) - 7/10 - A couple of dangerous moments, including one great effort in the second half. Largely struggled to find space between the lines.

3. Forwards

Hakim Ziyech (RW) - 6/10 - Sometimes did too much with the ball to his teammates' frustration. He was, at least, always trying to make something happen.

Tammy Abraham (ST) - 6/10 - An infuriating afternoon. Could not get the ball to stick and he was dealt with easily by the Spurs backline.

Timo Werner (LW) - 6/10 - Had a goal disallowed in the first half for offside, A real shame, as it was a lovely finish.

4. Substitutes

Christian Pulisic - 6/10

Olivier Giroud - 5/10 - Had a huge chance at the end following a short header from Rodon. Didn't take it.

5. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Hugo Lloris (GK) - 7/10 - Despite Chelsea's dominance in possession, the Frenchman only had two saves to make. His stop to deny Mount was impressive.

Serge Aurier (RB) - 8/10 - Came close to opening the scoring early on with a fierce strike. Defended gallantly throughout.

Joe Rodon (CB) - 8/10 - Classy display after a shaky start. Looked great on the ball and dealt with Abraham easily.

Eric Dier (CB) - 7/10 - One or two troubling moments but largely solid, particularly in the air.

Sergio Reguilon (LB) - 7/10 - His pace was vital to Spurs' threat on the counter. One burst forward just before the break stood out as particularly excellent.

6. Midfielders

Moussa Sissoko (CM) - 7/10 - Got through a lot of defensive work to keep Werner quiet. Not a lot to report otherwise.

Tanguy Ndombele (CM) - 8/10 - Got the best of Kante early on with several incredible turns in midfield. Spurs looked worse after he went off.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - 7/10 - A disciplined display. Played his part as Spurs frustrated Chelsea for most of the game.

7. Forwards

Son Heung-min (RW) - 5/10 - A rare quiet display from the forward. Did not even muster a shot during the entire 90 minutes.

Harry Kane (ST) - 7/10 - Did his job for the team, dropping in to help Tottenham defend. Made a couple of fouls out of frustration that he perhaps did not need to.

Steven Bergwijn (LW) - 6/10 - A couple of decent scurries forward and nearly curled one in during the opening exchanges. Largely ineffective though.

8. Substitutes

Giovani Lo Celso - 5/10 - Busy enough but didn't make a huge impression.
