Chelsea predicted lineup vs Arsenal - Premier League
By Tom Gott
Chelsea will hope to keep their perfect start to the new season going with another victory against an Arsenal side who are feeling very sorry for themselves already this year.
Thomas Tuchel's men put three past Crystal Palace last weekend and will be hoping for a similar return this time around, particularly if a certain Belgian gets the chance to join in on the fun...
Here's how the Blues could set up.
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Edouard Mendy (GK) - One game down, one clean sheet for Mendy. He'll want the Golden Glove award this year.
Trevoh Chalobah (CB) - Let the fairytale continue. Chalobah has been outstanding in the early weeks of his senior Chelsea career and fully merits another start.
Thiago Silva (CB) - Silva is yet to appear for Chelsea since the end of last season but has been getting plenty of minutes in behind-closed-doors friendlies, so he should get his first taste of competitive action here.
Antonio Rudiger (CB) - Tuchel's general on the pitch, Rudiger will be looking to add another clean sheet to his record and might even offer up a crunching tackle or two. He loves getting in the derby spirit.
2. Midfielders
Cesar Azpilicueta (RM) - With Kieran Tierney proving to be Arsenal's biggest threat, Azpilicueta's defensive eye could make him the perfect fit for this role.
N'Golo Kante (CM) - After missing the Palace game through injury, expect Kante to return to the starting lineup for this one.
Jorginho (CM) - Completing Chelsea's pair of UEFA player of the year candidates, Jorginho was at fault when Arsenal won the last competitive meeting between these two and will be desperate to make amends.
Marcos Alonso (LM) - Arsenal's defence struggles against good movement and physicality, and Alonso offers that in spades. He'll be licking his lips thinking about squaring up with Calum Chambers.
Mason Mount (AM) - Chelsea's star boy. Mount looked in good physical shape as he played the full 90 against Palace, so here's hoping that he's got another full game in his locker.
Kai Havertz (AM) - We don't see Havertz in this midfield role that often these days, but he might be about to return here on a permanent basis because...
3. Forward
Romelu Lukaku (ST) - It's time. Lukaku wouldn't want his debut to come against anyone other than Arsenal, and after Ben White's display against Brentford, he'll be absolutely drooling at the prospect of scoring at least 30 goals this weekend.
