Chelsea will have the unenviable task of stopping an unstoppable force when they visit Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday.

The Blues have 42 points fewer than City before their final three matches, ending the season with Frank Lampard in temporary charge after the previous dismissals of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

Lampard's side are now unbeaten in two games having suffered a six-game losing streak during April but face a City team marching towards European domination in their treble bid, most recently dispatching of Real Madrid 4-0 on Wednesday.

Here's the side Chelsea could deploy in the hope of some kind of result.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga - Chelsea's goalkeeper options remain flaky and Edouard Mendy's poor performance against Nottingham Forest could see Arrizabalaga recalled.

RB: Cesar Azpilicueta - With inexperience elsewhere in the team, sticking Azpilicueta in at right back could be a wise move.

CB: Thiago Silva - The main leader in Chelsea's defence, Silva first faced Erling Haaland in 2020 when the Norwegian scored a brace for Borussia Dortmund in a 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

CB: Wesley Fofana - Benoit Badiashile has a groin problem, so Wesley Fofana may partner Silva with Kalidou Koulibaly also ruled out despite returning to training.

LB: Lewis Hall - Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella are still absent, so Lampard may stick with 18-year-old Hall.

CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek - May start but is also eyeing a reunion with Fikayo Tomori at AC Milan in Italy.

CM: Enzo Fernandez - Has been the standout recruit in recent times, though still needs the right partners in midfield to really thrive.

CM: Conor Gallagher - Has been one of Chelsea's main goal threats in recent weeks, netting in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth.

RW: Noni Madueke - Has started three consecutive league games and has shown enough to warrant a fourth ahead of the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Mykhailo Mudryk and Christian Pulisic.

ST: Joao Felix - Faced City twice previously, both in the 2021/22 Champions League when Atletico Madrid were knocked out 1-0 in the quarter finals.

LW: Raheem Sterling - Dragged Chelsea back into the game against Forest and powered them into the lead only for Taiwo Awoyini's second to earn the visitors a point.
