Chelsea's stance on Graham Potter amid Julian Nagelsmann links
Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is standing firm in his decision to stand by under-fire head coach Graham Potter, sources have told 90min.
The Blues chief picked Potter as a replacement to fan favourite Thomas Tuchel back in September, but they have endured a rather miserable 2022/23 season.
After losing 2-0 to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Saturday - during which home fans taunted Potter with chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' and 'you're getting sacked in the morning' - Chelsea now sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table in 11th.
90min understands that some within the club's hierarchy are concerned about this situation and that results can't carry on like this.
However, Boehly is choosing to stick by Potter and another change of head coach this season is unlikely.
Potter has won just 12 of his 31 games in charge of Chelsea, totalling a win percentage of just 38.7%.
Julian Nagelsmann's interest in Chelsea job
An interesting subplot to Potter's future is that Julian Nagelsmann has emerged as a contender to take the job should Chelsea ultimately decide to make a change in head coach.
However, 90min understands that while the German would be interested in taking the job and this has been communicated to Chelsea, he would prefer to wait until the end of the season before deciding his future and stepping back into management.
This is also a stipulation he has told Tottenham - 90min revealed earlier this week that he is on Spurs' shortlist of options to succeed Antonio Conte.
Nagelsmann was recently sacked by Bayern Munich and replaced by Potter's predecessor at Chelsea, Tuchel.
