Chelsea open talks over Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo
- Chelsea have been aggressive in the South American market this summer
- 17-year-old midfielder Moscardo the latest target
- Brugge winger Antonio Nusa has turned down an approach from Chelsea
Chelsea have opened talks with Corinthians over the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, 90min understands.
The Blues, who added former Corinthians scout Alysson Marins to their recruitment team this summer, have been incredibly active in the South American market already during this transfer window.
A £17m deal to sign 16-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Paez has been put in place for 2025, while Angelo and Deivid Washington were both signed from Santos for a combined £30m. Andrey Santos also joined in January for £13m and has since been loaned to Nottingham Forest.
Sources have confirmed to 90min that Moscardo is the latest youngster to be targeted by Chelsea, who are confident of getting a deal done for the 17-year-old midfielder.
Moscardo, who turns 18 later this month, has already made ten senior appearances for Corinthians at the base of their midfield.

Chelsea have, however, failed with a move for Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa.
The 18-year-old Norway international was the subject of a £25.7m bid from Chelsea but has rejected the move as it stands.
With the transfer window inching closer to its deadline, Chelsea face a dilemma over the immediate futures of some of their younger talents as Romelu Lukaku's loan to Roma has left the Blues with just one overseas loan spot available.
Striker Washington was expected to follow Angelo to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg and was initially tipped to be joined by midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, who could now remain at Stamford Bridge and continue his development under Mauricio Pochettino.
