Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle - April 2000
Gus Poyet wrote himself into Chelsea folklore with his performance against Newcastle in this FA Cup semi-final at the start of the Millennium.
The Blues were favoured heading into the bout, but a hotly-contested affair saw goals arrive at both ends. Poyet opened the scoring in the first half with a deft lob over Shay Given before Rob Lee equalised midway through the second half with an emphatic header from Alan Shearer's cross.
The Poyet show wasn't over, however, as the future Premier League manager nodded home the winner with 20 minutes remaining to send Chelsea into their second FA Cup final in four years.
Chelsea 3-4 Newcastle - September 2010
Look, this may have not been the most important contest in the world, but it was certainly the most bonkers between these two sides in recent times.
Both managers rotated their packs for this Carling Cup third round tie that included seven goals. Patrick van Aanholt got the Blues off to the perfect start, but his early effort was cancelled out by Nile Ranger (the less we mention him the better) before Ryan Taylor's free-kick handed the visitors a half-time lead.
Shola Ameobi extended Newcastle's advantage in the second period, but a Nicolas Anelka brace in the final 20 minutes ensured Chelsea restored parity. However, the drama didn't conclude with Anelka's 87th-minute penalty as the Magpies, thanks to a glancing Ameobi header, went down the other end and snatched a dramatic last-gasp winner.
A 4-0 defeat to Arsenal ensued in the fourth round.
Chelsea 0-2 Newcastle - May 2012
The finest brace in Premier League history?
Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse joined Newcastle in January 2012 as a relative unknown but would emerge as a winter masterstroke on the Magpies' behalf. Cisse quickly formed a devastating relationship with strike partner Demba Ba, and would end the 2011/12 Premier League season with 13 goals in 14 appearances.
His most memorable outing, without question, was his visit to Stamford Bridge at the start of May in which he spearheaded Newcastle's first triumph away at Chelsea since 1986. Cisse's made his first strike look effortless, while his second was just flat out absurd.
The outside of the foot half-volley which befuddled Petr Cech was later named the Premier League's Goal of the Season.
Newcastle 3-2 Chelsea - February 2013
While the aforementioned contest was all about Cisse, this Newcastle victory was masterminded by home debutant Moussa Sissoko.
The Frenchman, who joined the club just a week before, produced a dominant performance at St. James' Park as the hosts came from behind to win 3-2.
Frank Lampard and Juan Mata scored delightful goals to give Chelsea a 2-1 lead in the second half before a swift Newcastle counter culminated in Sissoko tapping home a rebound. The midfielder's winner arrived at the death and gave both the Toon Army and, later, Tottenham supporters the false impression that the big fella knew what he was doing in front of goal.
Sissoko's driven strike from distance sunk the Blues on Tyneside and handed the hosts an unforgettable triumph.
