Claudia Pina has signed a new contract with Barcelona, extending her stay until the summer of 2026. The forward's current deal had been due to expire this summer.

At 21 years of age, Pina is the emerging star of Spanish football. She has become an increasingly prominent member of the all-conquering Barça side of the last 18 months, scoring 19 goals in all competitions in what was a breakout campaign last season.

Pina had previously spent a year on loan at Sevilla but came through the youth ranks at Barça after joining the club a decade ago from city rivals Espanyol.

Last season, she scored home and away against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, the former in front of more than 91,000 fans at Camp Nou, later appearing off the bench in the final.

Pina made her senior Spain international debut in 2021 and went to Euro 2022 last summer. But she is among the 15 players refusing to be called up by current coach Jorge Vilda.

“Barça has been my life, I have always been a fan, and you can see that. I hope to carry on her for many years to come,” the player said of her new contract.

“The challenge is to continue to grow, and to keep doing my best and help in every game."

Barça have handed out a number of new contracts already this season, with Caroline Graham Hansen, Ingrid Engen, Fridolina Rolfo and Irene Paredes among the senior stars to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

Earlier this week, back-up goalkeeper Cata Coll also signed a new deal until 2026.
