CONCACAF Champions League prize money: How much do 2023 winners earn?
By Abel Folgar
CONCACAF Champions League cash awards might not seem like much to some but can be a hefty sum to others.
The CONCACAF Champions League involves teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Since the competition kicked off in 1962, teams from Mexico have taken the title 37 times. For MLS, the Seattle Sounders brought the prize home for the third time in 2022, after the Galaxy did it in 2000 and D.C. United in 1998.
The last team to win outside of Liga MX or MLS was Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa in 2005.
Winning the competition also has its monetary benefits. Leon won in 2023 in the competition's last edition before a rebrand to its previous name; the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Here's how much Mexican giants Leon won for their success in 2023.
What is the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League prize pot?
Leon took home the silverware this year and will receive a cool $500,000 as tournament winners. Runners-up LAFC earned a not-too-shabby $300,000, with the two losing semi finalists Tigres and Philadelphia Union getting $200,000 for their troubles.

A significant increase to prize money for the 2024 tournament has already been announced as part of the rebrand.

This four-stage competition will pit them against top teams from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), and the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC).
