Confirmed Dates for Postponed 2019/20 Women's FA Cup to Resume

The 2019/20 Women’s FA Cup will be concluded in the first two months of the 2020/21 season, with the final to be played at Wembley on 31 October.

The 2019/20 Women’s Super League was abandoned as a result of the difficulties associated with restarting, but the FA Cup was simply left up in their air rather than be cancelled.

Even though the 2020/21 WSL campaign will begin in early September, the FA Cup competition, which had got as far as the quarter-final stage, will still be concluded in full.

It was mid/late February when the fifth round was played, meaning that seven will have passed by the time the FA Cup resumes on the weekend of 26/27 September.

Those date will see the eight quarter finalists compete across four ties as they were originally drawn back in February. Arsenal will face Tottenham in a north London derby, Chelsea will travel to Everton, Brighton will host Birmingham, and Manchester City face Leicester, who are the sole non-WSL side left in the competition at this stage.

The two semi-finals will be played just a few days later, with one on 30 September and the other on 1 October. The final at Wembley will then be a Halloween affair on Saturday 31 October.

Preparations are already well underway the 2020/21 WSL season. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all been busy in the transfer market so far, as have Manchester United, who are already out of the cup following a thrilling but controversial 3-2 loss to Manchester City in the fourth round.

Manchester City and Chelsea will also have Champions League commitments to contend with as they effectively both compete for five trophies next season over the course of the whole campaign in the shape of the WSL, two FA Cups, Continental Cup and the Champions League.
