Confirmed & leaked home kits: MLS 2023 season
By Chris Smith
The 2023 MLS season is fast approaching and clubs throughout the league are starting to show how they'll be dressing for the action.
MLS kits run for two seasons, so a number of teams will be donning the same jerseys they did in 2022. However, there are plenty that will be revealing a new look, which is always exciting for supporters.
Already, we're starting to get a first taste of the fresh new kits we'll be seeing in 2023, so let's take a look at what we know so far...
MLS 2023 kits
Eastern Conference
Atlanta United
After two years with the BLVCK Kit - loved by some, nicknamed the 'Five Strings' by others - Atlanta United are returning to their roots with a throwback to their first-ever home jersey worn by their 2018 MLS Cup-winning side.
'The 17s' Kit' is a two-black, three-red striped number with a gold trim, and fans are already showing their support for the new twist on an old look - though it is curiously missing the star signifying their MLS Cup win at present.

Chicago Fire
The Chicago Fire will continue with the popular 'Water Tower' kit in 2023.
FC Cincinnati
FC Cincinnati's new 'River Kit' primary jersey is quite different from the one they wore between 2021 and 2022. Gone are the vertical stripes, replaced by a kit that pays tribute to the Ohio River and various landmarks throughout Cincinnati.
Charlotte FC
Charlotte FC have another year to go in their inaugural home kit, which proved very popular among supporters.

Columbus Crew
The Columbus Crew will continue on with their gold and black kit in 2023. The kit itself is pleasing on the eye, but the club's new crest continues to be highly unpopular.
DC United
Wayne Rooney's DC United will remain in their simple black and red kit in 2023, when they will look to drastically improve on their bottom-of-the-East showing from last season.
Inter Miami
Inter Miami finally revealed a pink home kit ahead of the 2022 MLS season and it has proved very popular. Fans will be glad to see them lining up in the same attire for another season.
CF Montreal
Nothing much has been leaked regarding CF Montreal's 2023/24 home kit, but we do know the club will be sporting a new logo, which should prove more popular than their previous effort.
Nashville SC
No change in the kit department for Nashville SC next year, though the club will return to the Eastern Conference.
New England Revolution
The Revs will hope to have more success in their 'Liberty' kit in 2023 after missing out on the MLS Cup Playoffs last year.

NYCFC
The 'Interboro' jersey is everything you'd expect from an NYCFC release: sky blue with a deep navy blue trim, with orange running down the sides and around the neck.
Featured on the front this year is a mosaic version of the club's crest, and a symbol in the form of the Statue of Libertyβs torch.
New York Red Bulls
We're yet to see any details regarding the New York Red Bulls' new primary jersey, though they often wore the 1Rimto kit in home matches last season.
Orlando City SC
It looks like Orlando City will be adding a gold trim to their traditional purple home kit in 2023. Based on the limited leaks we have so far, this one could end up being very popular.
Philadelphia Union
The Union will look to go one better and win MLS Cup this year in their 'For U Kit' after losing to LAFC in the final in 2022.

Toronto FC
Toronto FC appear to be taking a sharp turn when it comes to their look in 2023/24, adopting black and dark grey hoops as the base, which is bold considering they're nicknamed 'The Reds'.
Red is, of course, still present in the form of stripes between the hoops and on the arms.
The fan reaction to this effort has, so far, been rather negative.
Western Conference
Austin FC
Austin FC's new jersey is very different from the one they've sported across their opening two years in Major League Soccer. Gone are the five bold stripes across the front, replaced by a mish-mash of Verde and Green patterns, designed to pay tribute to all corners of the Austin FC community.
Colorado Rapids
No change for the Rapids who, at present, are without a sponsor on the front of their jersey.

FC Dallas
FC Dallas will hope their home jersey remains a good luck charm in its second year after returning to the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2022.
Houston Dynamo
'El Sol' is vintage Houston Dynamo. It's orange, bold, luminous, and very stylish. What more could you ask for?

LA Galaxy
The Galaxy keep their popular home jersey after returning to the MLS Cup Playoffs last season.
LAFC
LAFC supporters will be glad to know their team are returning in the '5 Tears Strong' jersey next season after winning MLS Cup wearing it last season.
The kit is as much a fashion statement as it is sporting apparel, but will go down in club and MLS history.
Minnesota United
Minnesota United have another year to go in their gorgeous 'Minnesota Midnight' home kit.

Portland Timbers
The new Portland Timbers home jersey for 2023/24 is dark green with gold and yellow accents, featuring a plaid pattern on the front.

St. Louis CITY SC
St. Louis CITY SC revealed their bold, first-ever home jersey back in November and it's a good one.
The jersey features the club's signature 'CITY red' color with navy and yellow accents as a nod to the City of St. Louis flag, which is displayed as a patch on the bottom hem. Also featured is a geometric pattern echoing the steel plates of the Gateway Arch.
