Just like that, the Copa America 2024 group stage is history.

This summer's Copa America group stage had it all: red cards, goals and drama from the first whistle until the last in Group D. The best part is, we still have the quarter-finals and everything after to follow.

Players from various nations stepped up to make key saves to keep clean sheets while others got on the scoresheet multiple times to take the lead in the tournament's Golden Boot race. Thousands of fans made their way to stadiums across the United States, hoping to see some of the biggest stars in all of football -- especially at the site of the 2026 World Cup final.

Chile's narrow 1-0 victory over Argentina was the highest-attended match during the Copa America group stage, as 81,106 fans flocked to MetLife Stadium to see Lionel Messi and Co. It wasn't necessarily the most exciting game of the group stage, but those fans in attendance will always remember the night they saw Messi in action live in the flesh.


How many goals were scored during the Copa America group stage?

A total of 53 goals were scored during the group stage at Copa America 2024, with Uruguay accounting for nine goals on their own. Colombia and Panama both managed six goals while Argentina and Brazil both totaled five goals each.

Each team outside of Chile and Peru -- who were sent home after scoring zero combined goals -- managed to score at least once during the group stage.

Three teams managed a perfect group stage that is: three wins, zero draws and zero losses.

Argentina, unsurprisingly accomplished this feat with wins over Canada, Chile and Peru with five goals scored and zero conceded in Group A. In Group B, Venezuela surprised just about everyone as they also finished with a perfect nine points against Mexico, Jamaica and Ecuador while Uruguay got in on the perfect group stage act with nine points collected in Group C against USA, Bolivia and Panama.
