Major League Soccer announced Real Salt Lake forward Cristian "Chico" Arango is suspended for four games after violating the MLS Anti-Harassment Policy.

"Major League Soccer has suspended Real Salt Lake forward Cristian “Chicho” Arango for violating the MLS Anti-Harassment Policy. The four-match suspension will be served during the next two Real Salt Lake regular season games, on July 17 and July 20, the MLS All-Star Game on July 24, and Real Salt Lake’s first Leagues Cup match on August 1," MLS said in a statement.

What Arango did to be found in violation of the policy remains unclear at the time of writing.

What games will Cristian Arango miss during his suspension?

Arango will miss the following matches while serving his four-game suspension:

  • Real Salt Lake vs LAFC - July 17 (MLS regular season)
  • Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake - July 20 (MLS regular season)
  • 2024 MLS All-Star Game - July 24
  • Real Salt Lake vs Atlas - Aug. 1 (Leagues Cup)

On one hand, it's strange Arango will miss an exhibition match against Liga MX All-Stars but RSL fans will be happy that it's not an extra regular season or Leagues Cup match. Clarification regarding why his suspension includes the All-Star Game was not given.

When will Cristian Arango return to Real Salt Lake?

Arango will be eligible to return in the team's second Leagues Cup group stage match against Houston Dynamo on Aug. 5.

What did Cristian Arango do?

At the time of writing, Major League Soccer has not further elaborated on what Arango did to be found in violation of the league's Anti-Harassment Policy. We will update our story when more information is known.

Arango will be a big miss for not only RSL in its next three competitive matches, but also at the All-Star Game. Arango has scored 17 goals leading the Golden Boot race ahead of Christian Benteke and Denis Bouanga who are both on 14 goals.
