Crotone 1-1 Juventus: Player Ratings as Federico Chiesa Sees Red on Bianconeri Debut
Juventus will feel aggrieved by a number of refereeing decisions as their ten men could only leave Crotone with a 1-1 draw from Saturday's Serie A clash.
Simy Nwankwo had put the hosts in front from the spot, before summer signing Alvaro Morata levelled matters in the 21st minute. Federico Chiesa then saw red for a perceived stamp in the 60th minute, with Andrea Pirlo's side having a winner chalked off for offside in the closing stages.
Here are your Juventus player ratings.
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Gianluigi Buffon - 6/10 - Only had two shots to deal with all match but handled those efforts well. A bit questionable at crosses and could do nothing about the penalty.
Danilo (CB) - 7/10 - Found himself under the cosh for the final half an hour when his side were reduced to ten, but put in a solid display and supported his wing-back well throughout.
Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - 6/10 - Didn't have a necessarily bad game but got himself booked early on when he conceded the foul for the penalty. A tackle he didn't need to make.
Merih Demiral (CB) - 7/10 - Much like his fellow centre-backs, he dealt with the bombardment of Crotone crosses late on to hold out for a point. Made some incisive passes out from the back.
2. Wing-Backs & Midfielders
Federico Chiesa (RWB) - 5/10 - Wasted at wing-back but was lively on his debut for Juve. Just a shame he got sent off with a poor studs up tackle in the second half. Even if it looked unintentional.
Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - 7/10 - One of the better players on the pitch with an all-action performance that demonstrates how much I Bianconeri have missed him. Was everywhere, and in a good sense.
Arthur (CM) - 8/10 - Well, it appears there is semblance of a partnership blooming here. Arthur's 95.7% pass accuracy was the best among his side, and his ball carries through midfield were 100% successful. Good job Barcelona.
Gianluca Frabotta (LWB) - 6/10 - A decent enough display from the 21-year-old who has been promoted from the Under-23s. Clearly well liked by Pirlo.
3. Forwards
Dejan Kulusevski (RF) - 6/10 - A mixed bag for the Swedish forward, who offered quality on the ball but lacked when out of possession. Didn't make the right runs to cause Crotone damage.
Alvaro Morata (ST) - 8/10 - Grabbed his first Juventus goal since rejoining the side but could easily have had three on the night. Struck the woodwork then was denied a winner by a controversial VAR decision.
Manolo Portanova (LF) - 6/10 - Granted his first start since being promoted from the youth team, but was practically non-existent in the first half. More chances will come for the young debutant.
4. Substitutes
Adrien Rabiot - 6/10
Federico Bernardeschi - 5/10
Juan Cuadardo - 7/10
