The Saturday evening offering from the Premier League this weekend sees Newcastle travel south to take on a Crystal Palace side buoyed by an impressive point against Manchester United in midweek.

That result will have been welcomed by Newcastle who are locked in a fight with United for a Champions League spot, with both knocking on the door of the Premier League title race.

The performances have not really been the issue for Palace in recent weeks, but they are not turning it into points. A win here would represent an extremely productive week at Selhurst Park.

Here's 90min's preview of the game.

Crystal Palace team news

Nathan Ferguson, Joachim Andersen and James McArthur are all out for Palace but Patrick Vieira has got many of his attacking options fit and available. Eberechi Eze was dropped for the United match so he may expect to be reinstated for this one.

Jordan Ayew is another player who may think his experience is worth having in what could be a very tough game against a confident Newcastle side.

There is one major injury worry for Newcastle. During their narrow 1-0 win over Fulham last weekend, Bruno Guimaraes rolled his ankle and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches. He is not expected to play any role.

Emil Krafth, Paul Dummett, Matt Targett and Jonjo Shelvey are also out of this one.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle score prediction

Newcastle may not have expected to be facing a Palace team that is coming off the back of a great result against Manchester United, but the Eagles will be feeling confident that they can take points off of anyone if they stay in the game.

That being said, the fact that Newcastle have not played since last weekend and Palace played on Wednesday night means the Magpies should be much fresher and may have too much in the tank for Palace.

With Arsenal and United playing each other, there is a huge incentive for Eddie Howe's side to get the job done in south London on Saturday evening.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-2 Newcastle United
