Danny Rose ranks Harry Kane among three best Tottenham players of his career
By Sean Walsh
Danny Rose has revealed his admiration of the player Harry Kane has grown into and named him among his top three Tottenham teammates of his career.
Kane recently overtook Jimmy Greaves as Spurs' all-time record scorer, cementing his place in the club's history.
He came through the ranks at Tottenham just as Rose himself was establishing himself as a member of the first-team, and the former England international told 90min Kane is deserving of his widespread recognition.
"I'm not sure there's enough words or enough time to paint the picture of Harry if you don't already know," Rose said.
"An absolute privilege and honour to have played with him and shared a changing room with him, to have seen his professionalism, to see his hunger and his desire to be the best, to score goals, to do extra. It's breathtaking.
"Everything that's happened to him throughout his career in terms of the accolades that he's achieved is no fluke. It's all deserved, it's all been achieved.
"Years and years and years ago, he was doing extra training even when he was part of the academy. I remember when I was part of the first-team and Harry was just becoming full-time and he'd be practicing. It's all deserved."
When asked if Kane was the best Spurs player he ever played with, Rose was hesitant and instead chose to rank the striker between a couple of star midfielders.
"That's difficult...I played with Luka Modric. You know, he's not bad. Different players, but Mousa Dembele was scary, so it's difficult.
"But Harry is definitely top three, without a doubt. So if I had to choose, I'd say Luka was just ahead of him."
