David de Gea reveals feelings towards Man Utd contract talks

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has admitted he is confident his talks over a new contract at Old Trafford will end with a positive resolution.
The 32-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season, although United will trigger their 12-month extension clause to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer if needed.
Meanwhile, United have long been exploring their options when it comes to a long-term goalkeeper amid doubts over De Gea's suitability to Ten Hag's system, although sources have confirmed to 90min that the Dutch boss has been thoroughly impressed by the Spaniard's work behind the scenes.
Whether United move to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer remains to be seen, but for De Gea, talks continue over an extension and the Spanish stopper is satisfied with the way things are going.
"We’re still talking. I’m just focused on the game, that’s the most important thing, but for sure it’s going to end in a good way. I've been in very tough moments for this club. Now I'm enjoying it more," De Gea said.
"Winning games, especially here at home, it’s great to watch. I think it’s everything, a good manager, good players who bring experience to the team, people who want the ball, who play well with the ball. It’s a mix of everything.

"Everyone is ready, the people who aren’t playing much are training well, they’re ready to play and it’s great, we’re on a great run. It’s great, the spirit is great, the atmosphere is great.
"Everyone is thinking in the same way, playing in the same way. The team spirit is great from everyone, everyone fights until the end, and everyone is ready from the bench to perform well. It’s great to watch the team playing and performing well."
De Gea has kept eight clean sheets so far this season in the Premier League, matching his tally from last season already and needing just one more to tie 2020/21's return of nine.
Since the 2017/18 season, De Gea has only reached double figures for clean sheets once in the last four seasons - 13 in 2019/20 - having managed at least 11 in each of his first seven campaigns at Old Trafford.
