David Moyes responds to increasing West Ham job pressure

David Moyes has admitted that he is under pressure after West Ham United suffered yet another home defeat on Friday evening.

West Ham were well beaten by Brentford at London Stadium under the floodlights at London Stadium, with goals from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva proving the difference between the two sides.

The defeat was the Hammers' fifth on the bounce in the Premier League and leaves them just one point above the relegation zone heading into 2023.

Speaking to the press following the Brentford loss, when asked about whether or not he believes West Ham are firmly in a relegation battle, Moyes replied: “I’m hoping it’s not the case.

 “But we’ve lost a few at home recently so we have to be aware that we have to pick up points.

“I don’t think it’s unfair. In the business we’re in if you don’t win in five games you’re going to be under pressure.

“I only want the best for West Ham, it’s been a great club for me and we’ve done well. I’m determined to keep it there and not get dragged down. I hope we can get away from where we are.”

90min revealed in November that West Ham's board were standing by Moyes and had told the Scot that he would be given time to turn things around.

However, joint-chairman David Sullivan has been inundated with interest from representatives of managers and coaches expressing their desire to talk to the club, and the pressure will continue to intensify on Moyes after the defeats to Arsenal and Brentford - the latter of which saw the Hammers booed off at the final whistle.
