Derby d'Italia: When do Inter and Juventus play each other in 2023/24?
- 2023/24 Serie A fixtures have been announced
- Juventus to host first Derby d'Italia in 2023/24
- Juve won both Serie A meetings last season
Despite its financial woes, Serie A is slowly returning to past glories.
Juventus' decade-long stranglehold on the division has disintegrated and since the Bianconeri last tasted Scudetto glory under Maurizio Sarri in 2020, three different clubs have ascended to Serie A's summit to be crowned champions. Napoli were the latest to break their duck in 2022/23 as Luciano Spalletti inspired the Partenopei to their first league title since Diego Maradona left town.
The increased competitiveness of the Italian top flight means there are a ton of fixtures that are eagerly anticipated heading into 2023/24. However, there's perhaps not a clash of greater footballing significance than the Derby d'Italia. While Milan have equalled Inter's 19 Serie A titles, the Nerazzurri have long been considered Juventus' greatest domestic rival.
It's a rivalry entrenched in success and scandal, with the two competing clubs poised to battle it out at the league's peak next season. Thus, the two Derby d'Italie matches could prove crucial in determining who ends the campaign as Scudetto victors.
When do Inter and Juventus play each other in 2023/24?
The first meeting between the two sides arrives quite deep into the season. Juventus will play host to the first Derby d'Italia on 26 November 2023.
The return fixture is then scheduled pretty early on during the second half of the campaign. The Bianconeri will visit San Siro at the start of February, so neither bout is likely to have meaningful Scudetto implications.

Who won more Derby d'Italie in 2022/23?
2022/23 was a season of chaos for Juventus as the Plusvalenze scandal took hold and undermined what could've been a promising campaign. However, a deduction of ten points meant they finished seventh in Serie A last term and, funnily enough, ten points behind Inter in third.
The Nerazzurri's season stuttered for the most part, and for a while it looked as if they wouldn't secure a top four berth with Simone Inzaghi firmly in the hot seat. A late rally, however, ensured they finished third in Serie A and helped them into their first Champions League final since 2010 where they were beaten by treble-winners Manchester City in Istanbul.
While Juventus completed their first Serie A double over Inter without conceding since 1976/77, Inter prevailed over two legs in their Coppa Italia semi-final match-up before going on to beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the final - the second piece of silverware to be claimed by Inzaghi's side.

Derby d'Italia complete H2H record
While both have been regulars in European competition for decades, Juventus and Inter have only ever met competitively on the domestic scene.
There have been numerous derbies in now defunct and completely irrelevant competitions, with the total number of matches played between the two sides reaching 263. Juventus have won 116, while Inter have triumphed in 82.
The Old Lady's superiority has often been reflected in their Serie A meetings, with Juve winning 87 of their 180 duels. Inter, meanwhile, have won just 45. Interestingly, though, the Nerazzurri have found greater success in the cup competitions against their Derby d'Italia rivals.
