Donny van de Beek provides positive update on injury recovery
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has revealed he's 'not far away' from a return to action following a lengthy injury lay-off.
The Dutch international has been out of action since early January when he suffered a serious knee injury after colliding with Marco Senesi in Man Utd's eventual 3-0 win over Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek was forced to have surgery on his knee in the aftermath and was ruled out for the rest of the 2022/23 season as a result.

Speaking to MUTV this week, the midfielder revealed his optimism about his return to action.
"I’m busy with my recovery after my injury and everything is going well," he explained. "It’s hard to give you a time but we have to see how everything goes.
"I’m doing a lot of gym work and getting closer to being on the pitch, which is positive. I’m not far away.
"It’s a bit strange [missing so many games] - of course you want to be there with the lads but it is what it is so I’m supporting them from the side. They are so involved – they’re always asking how everything is, how the knee is. They’re really good lads and they support me, so that’s a good feeling."
The midfielder will be watching from the sidelines once again on Thursday night when Manchester United travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
