Tied with him is Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is the highest rated shot-stopper in the game for the second year in a row.
Zamora Trophy winner Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Brazilian flyer Vinicius Junior come in at 89 before Atletico Madrid make their first appearance with Antoine Griezmann and Jan Oblak taking home 88 ratings.
La Liga's strength in midfield is clear to see. Federico Valverde (88) has overtaken clubmates Luka Modric (87) and Toni Kroos (86), while Frenkie de Jong retains his 87 rating from FIFA 23. Generational talents Jude Bellingham and Pedri both sit on 86 with much higher numbers expected in the coming years as they continue developing.
South Americans Eder Militao and Ronaldo Araujo are the best defenders in Spain's top flight according to EA with both sat on 86. Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas is the most obvious outlier on the list as his 2022/23 goals see him retain an 85 mark.
