England are one game away from a first ever Women's World Cup final, but they must beat co-hosts Australia in order to avoid bitter disappointment again.

The Lionesses have reached this stage of the competition in each of the last two editions, finishing third in 2015 and fourth in 2019. With last summer's European Championship title already under their belt, they will now hope to go one better under a coach who took Netherlands to the last final.

Almost two years into the job, Sarina Wiegman has only ever lost one match out of 37 as England manager. But that was against Australia only four short months ago.

GK: Mary Earps - Made a spectacular save last time out against Colombia, although will be disappointed the way she was lobbed for the first goal conceded from open play.

CB: Jess Carter - A proper defence-first defender.

CB: Millie Bright - Has the chance to lead her team to a World Cup final. Remarkable when you consider her fitness was a doubt only last month.

CB: Alex Greenwood - Arguably an underrated part of this team as she is often like an additional midfielder with an excellent range of passing.

RM: Lucy Bronze - Will have to have defensive wits about her to deal with Austrlalia's left flank.

CM: Keira Walsh - Came through another game unscathed last time out and will be crucial if England are to take control of this tie.

AM: Ella Toone - Recalled to the starting lineup against Colombia in place of the suspended Lauren James and expected to keep that place.

CM: Georgia Stanway - Fills such an important role for the Lionesses and was outstanding in the quarter-finals as she fought tooth and nail for every ball.

LM: Rachel Daly - The more she can get forward to provide width the better.

ST: Alessia Russo - Found her feet in this tournament with a top performance against Colombia and will be hoping to deliver more of the same.

ST: Lauren Hemp - Adapting well to the different kind of role she has been asked to play at this World Cup and can use her pace to stretch the game vertically.
