England predicted lineup vs Wales

England take on Wales in their final group match of this World Cup on Tuesday knowing any result other than a defeat will take them through to the round of 16.

The Three Lions still have work to do, however, after they missed out on a chance to qualify in their 0-0 draw with the United States.

Gareth Southgate will be keen to end the group on a positive note after that rather stale performance, and may turn to his bench to provide some much-needed attacking impetus against Wales.

Let's take a look at how England could line up on Tuesday.

GK: Jordan Pickford - Southgate tends to be loyal to his favourite players, and Pickford has given his manager no reason to doubt his abilities.

RB: Kyle Walker - Injury has cursed England's first-choice right-back until now, but the Manchester City man be drafted back in for Kieran Trippier to build up some crucial match fitness.

CB: John Stones - The Manchester City man has looked perfectly comfortable and is all but certain to start.

CB: Harry Maguire - He still looks uncomfortable at times, but Maguire's aerial presence saved England on numerous occasions against the US and Southgate won't want to disrupt his first-choice centre-back pairing.

LB: Luke Shaw - Shaw has looked good for England so far, and deserves to start. Besides, he's the only left-back in the squad.

DM: Declan Rice - He understands the role and has played more football than Kalvin Philips this season, so Rice's inclusion seems like a no-brainer.

CM: Jude Bellingham - Bellingham was arguably England's best player against Iran, but he wasn't so effective against the United States. Still, the 19-year-old may continue to be used from the start.

CM: Jordan Henderson - Liverpool's skipper will come into the side for either Bellingham or Mason Mount - it could be the latter who makes way.

RW: Phil Foden - Nobody knows why Southgate didn't bring Foden off the bench against the US, but you'd imagine his chance will come now as part of rotation.ales.

LW: Marcus Rashford - Raheem Sterling looked off the pace against the US and Rashford could offer some much-needed directness.

ST: Harry Kane - His ankles won't be happy to hear this, but at the time of writing they're still attacked to Harry Kane's body so he's likely to start. Can he get his first goal of the tournament?
