England team news
Keira Walsh was scheduled to return to England training on Friday, having sat out the victory over the Korea Republic with a stomach bug. Sarina Wiegman confirmed on Thursday evening she expected the midfielder to be available for the clash with Italy.
Wiegman used 17 of her 26-player squad at Stadium MK, and has promised some experimentation over the course of the Arnold Clark Cup. It will be interesting to see which players are given an opportunity on Sunday; Walsh, Ebony Salmon, Jess Park, Jordan Nobbs, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Maya Le Tissier are the six outfield players yet to feature.
England vs Italy score prediction
England blew the Korea Republic away on Thursday evening, dominating possession and territory, and were well worth their four goals. The performance of the classy Lauren James in particular caught the eye.
Italy came into 2023 having underwhelmed at Euro 2022, crashing out in the group stages. They enjoyed the better of the second half against Belgium last time out and were unfortunate to concede late on. However, England will be a step up, and the Lionesses will be expected to come out on top.
