Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed he plans to speak with Marcus Rashford about his poor form this season.
Rashford inked a huge new contract this summer as a reward for netting 30 goals in all competitions across Ten Hag's debut season at the club, but he has struggled to replicate that form this year and has just two goals to his name.
The 26-year-old started Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United but was hooked on the hour mark after once again failing to make an impact.
"I will talk to him and not the media," Ten Hag said after the game when asked what is going wrong for Rashford.
"I don't go into individual performances. I knew this issue was coming up and Marcus is investing a lot. He will return to his form, he will recover and he gets all our support."
Centre-back Harry Maguire also pledged his support for Rashford, having fought through his own cold spell to prove himself to the United boss again.
"Marcus had an unbelievable season last season," Maguire told TNT Sports. "This season, it hasn't clicked for him.
"He's working hard. Everyone in that dressing room knows what he's about."
Rashford was not the only player singled out after the Newcastle game, with Ten Hag also asked to explain why he screamed at Anthony Martial midway through the first half.
"I’m not hoping [they will get better] - I am sure," Ten Hag said of the two struggling forwards. "You always want to play the perfect game but we have so many matches in a short period you and we know we have to pick it up. "
