Euro 2024 qualifying top goalscorers
- Stars across Europe are looking to fire their sides to Euro 2024 qualification
- Romelu Lukaku has enjoyed a record-breaking qualifying campaign
- The next Euros will take place in Germany
Some of the best forwards in the world are competing in the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, many of whom have already fired their team to next summer's tournament.
Stars like Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo are all hoping to power their nations to the next European Championship, where Italy will look to defend the crown they won in 2021.
Here are the players who have scored the most goals in the qualifiers thus far.
10. Aleksandar Mitrovic (Serbia)
Games: 7
Goals: 5
Assists: 1
Former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been banging them in for Serbia during qualifying.
Mitrovic, now of Saudi Pro League moneybags Al Hilal, put three past Lithuania before bagging two against Montenegro as Serbia qualified for their first-ever Euros since their split from Montenegro in 2006.
9. Zeki Amdouni (Switzerland)
Games: 9
Goals: 6
Assists: 0
Basel loanee Zeki Amdouni has benefitted from Switzerland being drawn into a qualifying group that contains Romania, Israel, Kosovo and Belarus.
His six-goal return has seen the Swiss go unbeaten in their first nine games, but five draws means they have to beat Romania on the final day to take top spot, even if their Euro 2024 spot is safe regardless.
8. Erling Haaland (Norway)
Games: 5
Goals: 6
Assists: 1
Norway haven't qualified for an international tournament since Euro 2000 and they won't even get the chance of booking spot in Germany via the play-offs.
Haaland wasn't able to fire Norway to Euro 2024 in the qualification group stage, but his six goals in qualifying gave them hope for a brief period.
7. Bruno Fernandes (Portugal)
Games: 10
Goals: 6
Assists: 7
Bruno Fernandes enjoyed himself as Portugal's leading creator in a very easy Group J.
The Euro 2016 winners have won all ten of their group games, scoring 36 times and conceding just two, and Fernandes has contributed six in the goals column.
6. Scott McTominay (Scotland)
Games: 8
Goals: 7
Assists: 1
Scotland have qualified for Euro 2024 and the goals of Scott McTominay have been crucial to their impressive form in Group A.
The often-criticised Manchester United midfielder has silenced his critics with seven goals amid some excellent performances for the national team.
5. Rasmus Hojlund (Denmark)
Games: 8
Goals: 7
Assists: 1
For all of the talent in their ranks in recent years, Denmark have lacked a top striker to stick away the chances created by Christian Eriksen.
But Manchester United's shiny new toy Rasmus Hojlund may be about to change that, evidenced by his hat-trick on debut which has left him looking forward rather than back.
4. Harry Kane (England)
Games: 8
Goals: 8
Assists: 2
Harry Kane's goals have powered England to international tournaments since his debut in 2015 and he's led the charge this time around as well.
The 30-year-old's reliability from the penalty spot has been key to his success - four of his eight goals have come from 12 yards out.
3. Kylian Mbappe (France)
Games: 7
Goals: 9
Assists: 4
Kylian Mbappe is starting to lead by example for Les Bleus with Didier Deschamps entrusting him with the captain's armband.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker enjoyed a fine qualifying campaign with France strolling through Group B. Mbappe added another three goals to his tally in France's 14-0 thrashing of Gibraltar.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
Games: 9
Goals: 10
Assists: 2
Many expected Cristiano Ronaldo's international career to finish after the World Cup but he had other ideas, making himself available and scoring a truck load of goals for Portugal.
Euro 2024 may be his last hurrah and goodness knows how many more he'll have scored by then.
1. Romelu Lukaku (Belgium)
Games: 8
Goals: 14
Assists: 1
Romelu Lukaku has put his nightmare of a World Cup behind him to fire Belgium into Euro 2024.
Indeed, Lukaku has been responsible for scoring 14 of Belgium's 22 goals to date. The brutish striker recently put Azerbaijan to the sword as he scored four times in the first half!
Lukaku has so far enjoyed the most prolific Euro qualifying campaign by any player in the 21st century.
