The first batch of FA Cup fifth-round ties took place on Tuesday evening, with five Premier League sides in action.

Manchester City made light work of Bristol City but we bid farewell to two sides from England's top flight.

Here's a round-up of the action.

Stoke 0-1 Brighton

Brighton booked their place in the next round with a comfortable 1-0 victory over Stoke.

Two in-form forwards combined for the first-half goal as the unselfish Kaoru Mitoma squared for Evan Ferguson, who could hardly miss when presented with an open net.

Leicester 1-2 Blackburn

Blackburn provided the first shock of the fifth round as they dispatched of Premier League side Leicester.

Tyrhys Dolan and Sammie Szmodics put Blackburn two up and, after Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back, the visitors even had a third ruled out for offside.

Leicester pushed and pushed for an equaliser, turning the game into one-way traffic for the best part of an hour, but the goal was not forthcoming.

Fulham 2-0 Leeds

Fulham dumped Leeds out of the cup with a couple of screamers.

The excellent Joao Palhinha powered home a glorious strike from range in the first half, before Manor Solomon's sensational curler after the break capped off a memorable affair.

Bristol City 0-3 Man City

Some real entertainment to close out the evening as Manchester City saw off a spirited Bristol City 3-0.

Phil Foden netted twice and Kevin De Bruyne added an impressive third late on, securing a scoreline which was perhaps a little harsh on the Championship side.
