Fabinho and Alisson give thoughts on Roberto Firmino's Liverpool exit
Fabinho and Alisson Becker have given their thoughts on Roberto Firmino's decision to leave Liverpool in the summer.
Firmino recently decided that he would not extend his contract with Liverpool before the expiration of his current deal in June, ending an eight-year affiliation with the Reds. The Brazilian told the club that he is keen to leave in order to get more regular first-team minutes, having started just 12 Premier League games during the current 2022/23 campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sports about Firmino's decision to move on, long-term teammates and fellow Brazilians Fabinho and Alisson have said they are disappointed the forward is set to leave the club.
''Bobby's a really good friend of ours and someone who has a massive importance on this team. I really wish he could stay," said Alisson.
Fabinho then added: "He is a really lovely guy and everyone around the club likes him. He was really important for me and for Al as well when we both arrived here. He was one of the most important people at the club."

Jurgen Klopp on Roberto Firmino exit
Speaking to the press recently, Klopp confessed that he was surprised by Firmino's decision to go.
"Yes, he told me. Surprised? Yes, a little bit, but it's a normal thing to do. It could go two ways, and it was one," the boss said.
"I respect that a lot. It's completely normal in this kind of long relationship that we have, that Bobby has with the club and most of the players and with the fans, it's pretty special. I loved the reception he got when he came on against [Manchester] United.
"He told me, and now I want to bring this wonderful story to a positive end."
