The 10 fastest players in Football Manager 2023
By Henry Burt, Tom Gott
Pace isn't everything in football - but it certainly is important.
If you've been playing Football Manager 2023, you've probably sought out a few players who can inject a bit of pace into your squad. But who are the fastest players in the game?
Let's take a look at the 10 fastest players in FM23.
10. Erling Haaland
Acceleration: 17
Pace: 19
People like Erling Haaland aren't supposed to be able to run fast. Physically, it does not make sense, but here we are.
Man City's skyscraper striker is a deadly finisher and a powerhouse in the weights room, and he's also one of the fastest players on the entire game.
9. Kyle Walker
Acceleration: 19
Pace: 18
Kyle Walker is something of a veteran now at 32 years old, but he hasn't lost any of his trademark pace.
While he is fairly limited as an attacker, he's a great defender to have in a team that plays with a high line due to his excellent tracking back.
8. DeAndre Yedlin
Acceleration: 18
Pace: 19
A FIFA favourite from years gone by, American right-back DeAndre Yedlin is still only 29 years old and he hasn't lost any of his trademark speed.
Now playing in Major League Soccer for Inter Miami, Yedlin brings something special from the right-back spot, but maybe not as special as...
7. Achraf Hakimi
Acceleration: 18
Pace: 20
The fastest right-back on the game is none other than Paris Saint-Germain sensation Achraf Hakimi.
The Morocco international's speed is only part of what makes him such a potent attacking threat.
6. Daizen Maeda
Acceleration: 19
Pace: 19
Celtic have a fun forward line in FM23. Liel Abada has sky high potential and Daizen Maeda is a rocket in human form.
With 19 pace and 19 acceleration, no wonder he has been setting speed records in Scottish football.
5. Alphonso Davies
Acceleration: 19
Pace: 19
Though he often plays as a defender himself, Alphonso Davies knows how to give defences nightmares. Just ask Nelson Semedo and Clement Lenglet, who were royally cooked by the flying Canadian in Bayern's 8-2 win over Barcelona in the Champions League a couple of years ago.
With a pace rating of 19, Davies is the perfect player to have operating at wing-back in your side. He provides a major attacking threat down the left flank, but has the defensive acumen to keep you tight at the back too.
4. Daniel James
Acceleration: 19
Pace: 19
He might not have delivered on the promise that saw Manchester United bring him to Old Trafford from Swansea, but there's no denying the fact that Dan James is a rather speedy young man.
His overall attributes aren't anything to write home about, but he's a phenomenal athlete and can do a job as a squad player for a Premier League club.
3. Adama Traore
Acceleration: 20
Pace: 20
How a player with Adama Traore's pace and dribbling ability produces so little in end product, we have no idea.
The Wolves winger can be incredibly frustrating, but could be worth a punt in your FM23 save as a cheap alternative to some of the other names on this list.
2. Kylian Mbappe
Acceleration: 20
Pace: 20
One of the least surprising entries on the list, Mbappe's pace is just one of the Frenchman's many attributes which make him one of the world's best.
He's about as expensive as they come, but who cares - he'll bang the goals in for your side and beat anybody in a foot race.
1. Tyler Magloire
Acceleration: 20
Pace: 20
Who saw this one coming, then?
One of Football Manager 2023's quickest players is none other than Northampton Town centre-back Tyler Magloire.
If you're managing at a lower level, Magloire's pace makes him the ultimate defender to make those crucial recovery runs. Sign him up.
