Fluminense braced for Andre sale amid Arsenal & Liverpool interest
- Andre helped Fluminense to Copa Liberatdores glory this year
- Arsenal appreciate midfielder and he is on their January shortlist
- Liverpool remain interested though have not made recent contact
Fluminense are expecting to sell star midfielder Andre in the January transfer window amid significant and rising interest from the Premier League, sources have confirmed to 90min.
The 22-year-old played a starring role during Fluminense's recent Copa Libertadores triumph, winning the South American championship for the first time in the club's history with victory against Boca Juniors in the final last Saturday.
90min reported during the summer that Andre was determined to see out Fluminense's Copa Libertadores campaign and so spurned the chance to head to Europe, with Liverpool viewing him as an alternative to Romeo Lavia after the Belgian opted for Chelsea instead.
Sources close to Fluminense have told 90min they expect Andre to make his long-awaited move to Europe in the upcoming transfer window, though talks have not been held with any club about a deal just yet.
Liverpool are cobbling together their plans for January and, although they do remain interested in Andre, they have not spoken to the midfielder since the summer.
Fulham are long-term admirers of Andre and have twice tried to sign him in the past. He is still on their radar as a possible replacement for Joao Palhinha, who remains a target for Bayern Munich.
As 90min previously reported, Arsenal have also been monitoring Andre. He is greatly appreciated by sporting director Edu and is on their shortlist ahead of the January window.
Interest in Andre has risen in recent weeks, with Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, Napoli and Lyon all checking in on him during the latter stages of Fluminense's Copa Libertadores run.
Andre has been capped twice by Brazil's senior team and has been called up to Fernando Diniz's squad for their November internationals against Colombia and bitter rivals Argentina.
