Former Toronto FC boss Bob Bradley returns to Norway to coach Stabæk

Former Toronto FC head coach Bob Bradley is back in the dugout in top-flight football after rejoining Norwegian side Stabæk.

Bradley's first stint with Stabæk came during the 2014/15 season, and after leaving Norway the 65-year-old went on to coach at Le Havre (France), Swansea City (Wales), LAFC and Toronto FC before returning to his former club.

The former US men's national team boss was let go by TFC after a poor string of results left the Canadian side near the basement of the Eastern Conference despite having one of the highest payrolls in MLS with Federico Bernardeschi and Lorenzo Insigne on the books.

"It is with great pleasure that we can present Bob Bradley as our new head coach. The American made a strong impression on the entire club when he led the team with flying colors in 2014 and 2015 and took a bronze medal in his final season. The American has signed an agreement until the end of the year, with a clear intention of a longer collaboration," a club statement read.

"Stabæk is a very special club, with fantastic people and a fantastic history. I am very happy to be back and to be part of Stabæk again. I'm just looking forward to starting work. We had two very good years here last time and I followed the club and kept in touch with many people since I left," " added Bradley.

"I know that there is a lot that needs to be done in a short time, and we have discussed a lot about how we can take the club forward in the right direction," Bradley added.

The Norwegian side currently sit in 15th place in the 2023 Eliteserien standings with 16 points from 19 games, and they'll need Bradley to work some magic to propel them back up the table. Bradley's first game back on the touchline is set for September 17 when Stabæk take on Brann.
