Joe Kinnear has passed away at the age of 77.
Kinnear spent ten successful years at Tottenham Hotspur as a player between 1965 and 1975, making over 250 appearances for the north London club. During his time at White Hart Lane, Kinnear was a part of the Spurs sides which won the 1966/67 FA Cup, the League Cup in 1970/71 and 1972/73, and the UEFA Cup in the 1971/72 season.
Following his retirement, the Dublin-born defender would go on to manager Wimbledon, Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, and also worked as the latter's director of football in his final two years in the game.
Kinnear is perhaps best remembered a manager by Wimbledon fans. The manager won the LMA Manager of the Year award and three Premier League Manager of the Month awards during the 1993/94 season as he guided Wimbledon to a remarkable sixth-place finish in the top flight.
His family have released a statement regarding his passing, writing: : "We are sad to announce that Joe passed away peacefully this afternoon surrounded by his family."
As well as having a successful career in England, Kinnear was also the international manager for India back in 1984 and Nepal in 1987.
