The captaincy decision was a huge part of the FPL conversation last time out, with a record number of managers backing Erling Haaland with the Triple Captain chip.
The landscape is less chaotic ahead of the weekend, though Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham assets are all missing with no league fixtures in FPL Gameweek 26.
So who should we back for the armband? In conjunction with Fantasy Football Hub's powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here are the top captain picks this week.
Erling Haaland
- Fixture: Bournemouth (A); Predicted Points: 7.6
For most managers, Haaland's haul in Gameweek 25 was largely disappointing.
The giant Manchester City striker produced 15 shots in matches against Chelsea and Brentford in the double gameweek, including four big chances, but came away with just one goal. That said, he's still delivered four attacking returns in four starts since returning from injury.
Haaland's underlying numbers during this time show that more consistent attacking returns will arrive soon, with his three goals coming from six big chances on the target. Upcoming opposition Bournemouth have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six fixtures and could struggle to contain the Norwegian.
Bukayo Saka
- Fixture: Newcastle United (H); Predicted Points: 6.7
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been a leading figure in their heavy league wins over West Ham and Burnley recently and currently tops the fantasy form charts, scoring in four consecutive games.
The England international's underlying numbers show why he's recorded big hauls of late, with 20 shots on goal in this time. He's been clinical in his finishing, scoring six goals from six big chances.
Newcastle are the side to visit the Emirates Stadium this weekend. The Magpies have been leaky all season and have conceded in six consecutive league matches.
Ollie Watkins
- Fixture: Nottingham Forest (H); Predicted Points: 5.9
Ollie Watkins continues to excel among fantasy forwards and is now up to 27 goal involvements from 25 starts this season, including four goals and three assists over the last four gameweeks.
In this period the Aston Villa striker has had 15 shots on goal, including seven big chances, while visitors Nottingham Forest have conceded six goals in their last four games, making the clash at Villa Park an ideal fixture to target.
