Fantasy Premier League returns with Gameweek 30 this weekend following the March international break, with the captaincy decision once again pivotal for managers around the world.
The headline fixture is undoubtedly Sunday's clash between Premier League title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal, but there are other favourable matches throughout England's top flight for FPL players to target.
But who should we be targeting for the armband? In conjunction with Fantasy Football Hub's powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here are the best captaincy choices this weekend.
Erling Haaland
- Fixture: Arsenal (H); Predicted Points: 7.4
As one of the most efficient goalscorers the Premier League has ever seen, FPL managers shouldn't be put off by Erling Haaland's game against table leaders Arsenal when picking their captain this week.
He has the pedigree in this fixture, with two goals and two assists in three appearances against the Gunners. Haaland has the recent form too, with three attacking returns from his last four league matches, and a leading ten big chances on goal in this period.
Home advantage could also be hugely beneficial for the massive striker and Manchester City on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah
- Fixture: Brighton (H); Predicted Points: 7.4
Mohamed Salah returns to the captaincy conversation after a lengthy absence.
A hamstring injury curtailed his involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations at the start of 2024 but the Egyptian has since returned to full fitness, starting Liverpool's last two games against Sparta Prague and Manchester United.
Despite last starting a league game on New Year's Day, Salah remains the third-highest scoring fantasy asset for the campaign. He has an excellent record against Brighton with eight goals and six assists in 13 Premier League appearances against the Seagulls, including a brace in the reverse fixture for a 15-point haul.
Son Heung-min
- Fixture: Luton Town (H); Predicted Points: 7.4
Spurs captain Son Heung-min ranks highly in the form charts, with two goals and two assists in four starts since returning from the Asian Cup. Spurs have won six of their last seven home games, while opponents Luton Town have failed to keep a clean sheet on the road this season.
Son's underlying numbers are equally as impressive, sitting top for big chances created in the last three gameweeks with five. Add to this his goal threat with three big chances and a responsibility for spot-kicks, there's a high ceiling for his returns in this fixture.
