France predicted lineup vs Gibraltar - Euro 2024 qualifier
By Tom Gott
Group B winner France will expect to continue their perfect start to Euro 2024 qualification when they travel to face minnows Gibraltar on Friday.
Les Bleus have bounced back well after their World Cup final heartbreak and are overwhelming favourites to top this group when all is said and done, and so victory over a Gibraltar side ranked 201st in the world by FIFA is a must.
Here's how Didier Deschamps could set up for this one.
France predicted lineup vs Gibraltar (4-3-3)
GK: Mike Maignan - Maignan is the deserving successor to Hugo Lloris in between les sticks.
RB: Benjamin Pavard - The wantaway Bayern Munich man bagged the winner against Ireland last time out in March and is likely to start again here.
CB: Ibrahima Konate - After challenging Liverpool to keep busy in the summer transfer window, Konate will have to steer his focus back to France for now.
CB: Axel Disasi - Debutant Wesley Fofana is waiting in the wings but Disasi should get the chance to impress here while Dayot Upamecano prepares for the Greece test in a few days.
LB: Eduardo Camavinga - He's not a left-back and has never played here for France, but with Ferland Mendy pulling out and Theo Hernandez struggling with a calf problem, Camavinga may have to bite the bullet once again.
DM: Aurelien Tchouameni - Camavinga's drop into defence may give Tchouameni another shot in midfield.
CM: Antoine Griezmann - The Atletico Madrid creator is in the form of his life these days and will be looking forward to carrying that over to the international stage.
CM: Youssouf Fofana - Expect plenty of scouts to keep an eye on Fofana, who is one of Ligue 1's best-kept secrets.
RW: Ousmane Dembele - Dembele is in talks to extend his Barcelona contract and will hope to have an agreement wrapped up when he returns home.
ST: Randal Kolo Muani - Another who will be the subject of interest from countless scouts, it could be a pivotal summer for £100m-rated Kolo Muani.
LW: Kylian Mbappe - The reception Mbappe gets from the French fans, many of whom may support the PSG side with which he is currently feuding, could be interesting.
