Pictures of Manchester United's third kit ahead of the 2020/21 season have emerged online and it's... bold to say the very least.

The Red Devils have already released images of their slick new home and away shirts, but have apparently gone down a more experimental route with the third strip.

Photos published by Footy Headlines show the adidas shirt with the usual Chevrolet sponsor and red United crest, but that's where the normality ends and the chaos commences.

It's black and white - but not black with white trimmings, or white with a splash of black - it's very much 50:50.

Stripes? Close. Hoops? Not quite. It's sort of a bit of both.

The arms have got coherent stripes on, but that's about it. The rest of the shirt is a quirky mashup of black and white lines going in all sorts of different directions.

Half Juventus vibes, half zebra vibes.

The technical term is 'dazzle camouflage'. The design was primarily used to camouflage ships during World War I - but unlike normal camo it aims to dazzle and not disguise, making it difficult for naval ships to be recognised and mislead the enemy in regards to how far away a target is.

Always helpful for when you're attempting to consolidate a top four place and overcome your inability to win semi-finals.

The shirt has been splitting opinion online, with some fans fond of the out-there, experimental style, and others thinking it's just plain ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Quirky patterns have become a theme for United's new kits ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The Red Devils have already released their home and away shirts to much acclaim. Their home strip has been inspired by the club crest, with threads from the badge woven into the fabric, while the away is earth green with an intricate, hand drawn pattern.
