La Liga club Getafe have confirmed the loan signing of striker Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
Man Utd recently confirmed that they'd come to an agreement with Greenwood that the player should continue his footballing career away from Old Trafford after an internal investigation regarding rape and assault charges.
Greenwood was suspended by the club in January 2022 after he was charged with "attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm" by the Greater Manchester Police.
Charges were then dropped in February 2023 due to what the Crown Prosecution cited as "a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction."
Man Utd have decided that it is best to cut ties with Greenwood since then due to understandable uproar from fans.
Now, La Liga outfit Getafe has opted to sign the striker on loan in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
The player had also garnered interest from clubs in Turkey and Italy in recent days, with SS Lazio showing an interest on deadline day too.
The striker leaves Man Utd having played 129 games for the club, scoring 35 goals in those games.
