Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini Sign New Juventus Deals

Juventus have confirmed Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini have put pen to paper on new deals that will keep the pair at the club until 2021.

Both Buffon and Chiellini's contracts were set to expire at the end of June 2020, but the veterans have extended their stay in Turin for a further year.

Juventus confirmed the news on social media, writing on Twitter: "Fantastic news: Gianluigi Buffon & Giorgio Chiellini have renewed for another year with Juventus!"

The pair are long serving Juve legends and both famously stayed with the club in 2006 despite their demotion to the second tier following the Italian match fixing scandal.

The new deal will keep Buffon at Juventus until well past his 43rd birthday, and the 2020/21 season will be his 19th campaign with the Italian champions.

The goalkeeper first joined Juventus back in 2001, before leaving the Old Lady for PSG in 2019. However, he returned to Juve the following summer as back up for Wojciech Szczesny, and has featured 13 times in all competitions this season.

During his 19 years with the club, Buffon has won 13 major trophies, including nine Serie A titles, making over 500 appearances for the club in the process.

Meanwhile, Juventus captain Chiellini will remain in Turin past his 36th birthday thanks to his new deal. The defender joined Juventus from Roma back in 2005, and the 2020/21 season will be his 16th with the club.

He has remained with the club ever since, winning 12 major trophies, including Serie A on eight occasions.

Chiellini has featured just three times for Juventus this season, with an ACL injury keeping him sidelined until February.

Juventus are currently on the hunt for their ninth successive Serie A title. The Old Lady sit four points clear of second place Lazio with ten games remaining.
