Gotham FC have confirmed the transfer of US women's national team figure Crystal Dunn on a three-year contract from Portland Thorns.
Dunn was previously a member of the Portland Thorns squad from October 2020 - December 2023, where she made 44 appearances and scored seven goals and racked up a few trophies in the process.
While on the west coast, the 31-year-old captured the 2022 NWSL Championship, the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup and the 2021 Women's International Champions Cup.
"Crystal is an exceptional player who can play anywhere at any time and have an incredible impact on the game," said Gotham head coach Juan Carlos Amorós in a release.
"We are excited to have a player of her quality join us for this upcoming season as we look to continue to build upon the success of last season."
Dunn, who's proven to be a versatile player throughout her career as a full-back, midfielder and winger, is a World Cup winner with the USWNT in 2019 and and featured in the 2023 edition of the competition. She boasts 140 appearances (fourth-most among active US players) and 24 goals for the Stars and Stripes and signs through the 2026 season with Gotham.
Prior to her stint with Portland, Dunn featured for the North Carolina Courage from February 2018 - October 2020 before conquering the Women's Super League with Chelsea in 2017. Dunn's professional career began back in March of 2014 when she was drafted as the number one overall pick from the University of North Carolina by the Washington Spirit.
"I am so excited to join Gotham and return back home! This place is one that I hold close to my heart," said Dunn.
"I am looking forward to playing alongside top players that will bring out the best in me, as we all work together to push this club to achieve even more success this upcoming season and beyond."
The 2024 NWSL campaign is slated to kick-off on March 16, with Gotham looking to defend their 2023 title when they toppled OL Reign 2-1 in mid-November of last year.
