Fulham are considering their options to replace Marco Silva and Graham Potter is emerging as a strong contender, 90min understands.

The Cottagers are preparing for Silva's departure to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli and they have already been working hard on prospective targets. 90min revealed earlier this week they had looked to bring former assistant director of football Javier Pereira, who is currently managing in China.

Sources have confirmed that Pereira held talks about a possible return to Craven Cottage should, as expected, Silva depart for Saudi Arabia but has now opted to stay in China as he seeks to win the league title with current employers Shanghai Port.

Fulham, though, have also been exploring other options and former Chelsea boss Potter is under consideration as one of their targets.

Potter is understood to have turned down the possibility of joining Championship Leicester City this summer as he was waiting for a Premier League opportunity and that may now emerge in West London with Fulham.

Fulham have just flown to America to begin their pre-season tour but they know their current manager may not even be in charge of any of the games coming up which, with the new Premier League season just three weeks away, is a huge concern.

The Cottagers would like Silva to sign a new contract to commit to the club but are waiting on the outcome of the latest round of talks with Al Ahli.

Silva's current deal, with has just 12 months left to run, does include a release clause which would leave Fulham powerless to block the boss' departure if he agrees terms with the Saudi side.

There is also an ongoing battle over striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has been the subject of two bids from Al Hilal. The latest offer came in at £30m but Fulham, who are determined not to sell, have valued Mitrovic at double that fee.
