The De la Fuente era began with a 3-0 victory over Norway as former Newcastle forward Joselu put the finishing touches on a hard-fought triumph to open up Spain's Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.
The 32-year-old debutant was the unlikely hero after an Erling Haaland-less Norway threatened to take points off the Spaniards following Dani Olmo's early opener. Their campaign continues when they visit a Scotland side that was also victorious on Matchday 2.
Many will expect De la Fuente's side to cruise through qualifying and potentially emerge as a protagonist at Euro 2024 despite their recent World Cup disappointment.

How can Spain qualify for Euro 2024?
As Spain are competing in the Nations League Finals this summer, they were drawn into Group A with just four other teams.
The top two will qualify for Euro 2024 and Spain are already well-placed to book their ticket to Germany following their triumph over Norway on Matchday 1.
The Spaniards will struggle to blow teams away due to their lack of firepower in the final third, but their cohesion, structure, and technical ability means they will control almost every contest they compete in. Their competitors in Group A will find it tough to score against the Spaniards, let alone beat them.
Thus, many will expect De la Fuente's side to secure their ticket to Germany with a couple of games to spare at least. It'll be an intriguing battle for second place, however.
When is Euro 2024?
The month-long Euro 2024 finals will start on Friday, June 14, with the final scheduled to take place at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Sunday, July 14.
The tournament will take place across ten host cities: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
